In the United States, Golden Retrievers are one of the most popular dog breeds. The breed is known for being amiable, polite, and eager to please, making it a wonderful family companion. Golden retrievers have also been taught to serve as guide dogs for the blind.
Its withers are 21.5 to 24 inches (55 to 61 cm) and it weighs 55 to 75 pounds (25 to 34 kg). It has a thick coat that is long on the neck, thighs, tail, and back of the legs and can be any colour of golden brown.
It is a lively retriever both on land and in the water, and it is recognised for being outgoing and eager to please. The breed is known for being one of the most docile, consistently winning in obedience, agility, and field trials.
It is playful and affectionate with its family and friendly to strangers and dogs in general. It may be difficult to train at first, but after a few weeks, things become easier and more doable.
A fantastic companion for hiking and cool-weather jogging, requires at least an hour of rigorous exercise. Should only be done in fenced-in or off-road places; requires a fenced-in yard at home. Agility activities, play, and field training that includes pointing, tracking, flushing out prey, and retrieving can provide mental stimulation and challenges for the breed.
Brushing twice a week (more frequently during shedding season) and bathing on occasion are required for coat upkeep. As with many large breeds, it is best to feed puppies large-breed puppy chow to restrict their growth and reduce the risk of hip dysplasia. Because Golden Retrievers are prone to obesity, their nutrition should be closely controlled.
Because they are prone to obesity, their diet should be closely managed. Golden retrievers are susceptible to the same bacterial and viral illnesses that all dogs are, such as parvo, rabies, and distemper. Many of these infections can be avoided with immunisation, which we will recommend based on her age, the diseases prevalent in our area, and other considerations.
